I'm sorry, never mind.
I figured out how to use the "-c" option.

Hi there,

I think I could probably write a script to do what I'm thinking; however, I would feel really stupid if there is already a tool for this.

I have a tarball with a set of files and folders. I have a corresponding list of md5 checksums in a file. That file has a file name suffix of "-checksum.dat".

I'm thinking I could do this with Perl. I could read the checksum data "line by line" or read the tarbar "file by file".

My question is: does there exist a variation of md5sum that will loop though the files in the tarball and dat files?

Sincerely,
Roger
