Title: Software Design Engineer – Embedded Software, C, Unix, Python
IMMEDIATE OPENING!

Are you interested in robotics, motion control, control systems and automation?
Do you see yourself working on cutting-edge technology?

Advanced Decisions, a consulting firm specializing in software engineering and
embedded systems is seeking a software design engineer for a client company in
Connecticut (a leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor
industry). This is a very exciting six-month contract for someone who can hit
the ground running.
We are seeking someone authorized to work in the US – i.e., US citizen, green
card holder, or permanent resident. Our client is not sponsoring or handling Visas.

For this position, you don’t have to have had prior experience as a consultant,
but you must be able to manage your own projects and meet deadlines. In this
role, you will be finding and negotiating technical solutions, translating high
level requirements into software solutions and technically leading developments,
as well as doing the coding and documentation. You will be working with a
multidisciplinary and multi-national team.

In our interviewing process, you must be able to demonstrate some experience
with requirements definition, software design and system testing. You must have
prior experience with C/C++ programming and scripting languages like Python.

Since you will be working on a Unix/Solaris platform (with ClearCase), you must
have had prior experience on that platform as well.

If you have had experience on real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, pSos,
Vertex that will be highly valued

Additionally, you must be able to show that you are familiar with hardware and
writing drivers and interacting with complex hardware.

This position may require some international travel. It also requires a strong
academic background and understanding of electronics and computer science.
Compensation will be based on prior experience.

We welcome you to apply for this position if, in reviewing the above, you
believe that your background is a strong match for this opportunity. If so,
please email me your resume immediately as a Word document attachment (.doc
document vs. .docx document, please) immediately. Advanced Decisions is an
equal opportunity employer.

If this position is not a match for your background or interest professionally,
but you can suggest others with whom I might network – I would really appreciate
your assistance in my search efforts and look forward to your suggestions.
