[Python-talk] Modules for file navigation?

Are there any modules for text based file navigation / selection ?  Or do 
I have to roll my own?
If this is an easy or obvious question, break it to me gently...  A link 
would be great too!

If I don't have to make a wxPython interface I'd be happy.  I find the wx 
stuff to be a bit tedious...  I'll learn it eventually...  I have 
something kind of working now.  It is ugly and I'd rather not depend on it 
now...
