Sorry, my webmail client isn't going to do a good job quoting your base64
encoded message.  (It will decode it and let me read, but reply dumps in the
encoded stuff for me to type around.)

So, in reference to site-utils not being on the path, I'm going to guess that
it's a debian thing.

One thing you could try is symlinking site-packages to dist-packages.
