[Python-talk] Building extensions

At some time this was bound to happen... I need to add on an extension to
python that will implement some sort of parallel socket communications. I
have found two candidates, PSOCKETS, which apparently was built with
gcc3.4, and UDT C++ library which at least builds in the more modern gcc.
For an absolute beginner, which tools would be easiest? SWIG,
Boost.Python ? Something else? Each library is somewhat large, so I hope
this won't be too painful. I have taken a look at SWIG, but not
Boost.Python.
Thanks,
Bruce
